CoPilot HD USA & Canada App Reviews

We travel a lot when the kids are out of the school in the summer with our RV. Although Apple map or google map are very nice and convenient, there are many places in USA that does not have wireless connection. An offline GPS is necessary to navigated the remote part of the US.

This is my go to gps app. Ive tried a bunch and I keep coming back to CoPilot. It seems to be the most well rounded.

This is the worst program ever written. Extremely difficult to operate. By the time you put in start and destination, you can be there. Pure trash. Mike Smyrniotis

I would give it a higher rating but I was in south east Asia and I downloaded the maps for China and the map page was blank I tried reinstalling it a few times to no avail, I was really upset and the biggest problem is that you cant get a customer service representative on the phone, so this is major, you buy an app and there is no customer service available which is in todays world not accepted. Thats all I have to say..... Being in a different country relying on a map and nothing, not the map I was hoping for

Lots of good things, but... Twice this week copilot couldnt find my destination; Waze and Google maps found them easily. Entering addresses in copilot is cumbersome at best and the lane assist is weak- doesnt seem to show when there are 2 lanes to take or just one. Voice assist tells me when to take an exit, but wont call out the name or exit number.

CoPilot is now worthless to me as I can no longer install pre-planned TRP route files or OV2 POI files. This is do to the changes in iOS 8,3 for Apps that don’t support File Sharing. Prior to iOS 8.3, you could use open access to CoPilot files. This “backdoor” has been closed in iOS 8.3. Now Apps must support File Sharing if you want to send them data/files. Since Trimble/ALK/CoPilot has ignored customer requests for the File Sharing feature for over a year, I don’t see any hope for them adding that feature back. Bad customer service - again!

Tonight it literally had me going in circles. Earlier today I was pretty sure I should turn left. It said go right. I complied and in a few blocks it said "turn around" and sent me exactly where I had already figured out I should go. (And the left turn I intended would have been legal, with an arrow.) I bought this product for the RV mode. But it turns out that RV mode is only sensitive to height restrictions. There are better free or $.99 apps.

Google maps... It gives great road detail, gives great warning to lane changes, and is bold in color and gives great detail at a glance. But it sorta a pain to report up dates and adjust flags where needed.

This App keeps getting superficial updates but none of the fundamental features, like Data Sharing, are support since the update of iOS 8.3. This App could be one of the better Offline-Map Navigation products on iOS - but today it’s fluff. ALK has had almost a year to fix the Data Sharing issue. And although they have said they were working on it (it could be coded in an hour), they continue to not deliver. This is an expensive App, you should know what type of customer service ALK provides - poor.

This app is excellent for long and short distance driving especially long distance this app helped a lot

Good lord, I downloaded and put in one address and the app gave me spectacularly wrong directions, sending the wrong way down several streets and a major highway. If I followed that route, the cops would have thrown away the key! Trying to drag the route just made things worse. This app seems to have a lot going for it, but if it got NYC more wrong than any app Ive tried, that does not bode well. I just dont trust it. Too bad, cuz everything else about it is pretty good.

Bought. Downloaded. Now its grayed out; I cant open it, I cant delete it, I cant update it and I cant even see it when I connect the iPad to iTunes on my Mac. Money wasted.
